HUE IMPERIAL CITY TOUR- WALKING TOUR HALF DAY
At 8:15 am, please arrive at Lac Thien Restaurant, located at 06 Dinh Tien Hoang Street, Hue City. Our local guide will meet you there, and we will begin the Hue Imperial Walking Tour.
We will start by walking through Thuong Tu Gate of the Hue Citadel to reach the first section of the Imperial Citadel. You will have the opportunity to admire the Nine Holy Cannons, which symbolize the power of the Nguyen Dynasty in reunifying the country. Also, our guide will provide an overview of the Feng Shui layout of the Imperial Citadel and explain the history behind the current borders of Vietnam.
Next, we will visit the Ngo Mon Gate, the main entrance to the Hue Imperial City, which served as the working area for the emperor and mandarins.
Following that, we will explore the Hue Royal Family Temple, a complex dedicated to worship and honoring the monarchy. Here, you will find the Hien Lam Cat Tower, the Nine Dynasty Urns, The To Mieu Temple, etc.
Continuing our walking tour of Hue Citadel, we will visit the Truong Sanh- Dien Tho Residence, the former living quarters of the emperor’s mother and grandmother. You will notice the architectural differences between the male and female palaces.
One of the most important structures in the Hue Imperial City is the Thai Hoa Palace (Palace of Super Harmony), which was exclusively used for major ceremonies.
Next, we will enter the Hue Forbidden City, the private residence of the emperor, his family, and the eunuchs. Moreover, you will visit highlighted areas within the Forbidden City, including the Library, Lake, Garden, and Theater.
